Are You The Best Supervisor You Can Be?

If you paused for even the briefest of pauses, let me give you some things to think about, and then ask yourself that question again.

Your Staff is a reflection of YOU; what you expect, what you tolerate, and what you think about your staff.

Laziness is defined as “selective participation”. Would your Supervisory behavior ever be described as “lazy Supervision”?

The capacity to learn is a gift. The ability to learn is a skill. The willingness to learn is a choice. How do you measure up?

“The best of us still have something to learn.” (What are your thoughts on that one?)

You have no choice in the matter. You will create self-fulfilling prophecies. If you have low expectations of the people you Supervise, they will meet those expectations. If you have high expectations of those people and set them up to succeed; they will typically surprise and reward you for your efforts.

One last question: Would you enjoy working for you?

And, it wouldn’t be a newsletter from me without this parting thought:

“Don’t be afraid to fail. The floor will always be there to break the fall.”
