I Double Dare You …but with a positive intent.
No matter whether you are a Supervisor, a Manager or “almost; but not quite” one of those, I dare you to “be better and do better”.
To paraphrase Alice of “Alice in Wonderland” notoriety: “It’s no use to go back to yesterday because you were a different person then.” So, I’m suggesting that you, figuratively, drive a stake in the ground and focus forward.
Sometimes, the littlest action, takes up the greatest space; like simply saying “Good job!” or “Thanks”.
And, then it was Peter Pan who said, “The moment where you doubt whether you can fly, you cease for ever being able to do it.” Believe that you are capable of being an exceptional boss. Then do it.
And, remember from a previous lesson (IKR), birds land on any branch they want to…even the bendy (get over it), weak ones, because they have confidence in their ability to deal with the unexpected. And, you can take this from my firsthand experience…don’t go out on a limb if you can’t fly. (Just sayin’.)
And, in conclusion, another noteworthy philosopher and buddy of mine, Winnie the Pooh, (some of you actually believed that?), “Promise me you’ll remember, you are BRAVER than you believe, STRONGER than you seem, and SMARTER than you think.”
