“Life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated.” Confucius
I don’t know about you; but for a guy who lived a long time ago, I think Confucius sure had some pretty good insights…for US. I wonder what he had in mind with this observation?
Did you ever stop to think that you can alter your life by altering your thinking? Now pair that up with a quote from a “now” author, Mandy Hale who wrote “There is nothing more beautiful than someone who goes out of their way to make life beautiful for others.” Now don’t go getting mushy on me, but if you are a Supervisor and you routinely spend more time with the people you supervise than with your own loved-ones…when was the last time you said “Nice job.”, or “Thanks”.
“A boss has the title…a leader has the people.” Simon Sinek. So, what will be your legacy?
You heard it here, (unless you heard it someplace else, (Never underestimate the power of a random compliment.) IKR, really, how hard is it to say. “Nice job. Thanks.” (Hmmm, was that repetitively redundant?)
Look around you, I bet the people who “Know the way” are recognized for their knowledge. But I also bet that, among those who know the way; it’s the ones who are willing to show others the way that are most kindly remembered. The cost of sharing skill and knowledge is repaid many times over. Look in their eyes. Listen to their words. Feel their handshake that lasts a split second longer.
Have doubts? Guess you’ll just have to try it.
