You Are Your Choices
How many of you woke up today thinking, “I want to be mediocre today.”? Did someone on the left actually start to raise their hand?
So, maybe some of you parked in your parking space this morning and thought to yourself “Boy oh boy, I wonder how many clients and customers I can tic off by sounding uninterested?”
Ok, there are entirely more heads going up and down than I had expected. I have (now had) such high hopes for you…I wonder what happened?
It goes to prove that you have to be on guard in order to be the best version of you. It’s one of those conscious choices.
With multiple generations in the workforce, one of the things you might strive for is to be a model of behavior; not just the say-er of pithy words. (And yes, I spelled it correctly.)
It takes effort to be good at something. And, once you get good at something…I challenge you to try to get better at it.
For example, try becoming really good at recognizing the good and the potential in others. It is a great act of selfishness. “When we seek to discover the best in others, we somehow bring out the best in ourselves.” Wm Arthur Ward, writer.
“If you want to lift yourself up, lift up someone else.” Booker T. Washington (At least that's what he thought. Funny how that works.)
“Great things in business are never done by one person; they’re done by a team of people.” Steve Jobs (At east that's how he looked at Apple,)
Go out and try one of these ideas (or more). Then let me and other readers know of your results.
